En Somnii Explanatio
Behold the explanation of the dream
Behold the explanation of the dream
Where the edge of Monte Baldo softens to meet Lake Garda, a slender sliver of land holds its breath between lake and sky. Punta San Vigilio, Italy is a small miracle of limestone and time, home to an enduring legacy of soulful serenity, classical beauty, and a microclimate entirely its own. For centuries, this Italian haven has inspired poets, artists, and dreamers; today, it continues to weave its magic through an exclusive lifestyle collection that invites you to take a piece of our timeless haven home with you.
The Locanda.
Standing right at the water's edge, Locanda San Vigilio has welcomed its guests since the fifteenth century. To pass beneath its old stone arch is to step into a place that kings, princes, artists and travellers have moved through across the centuries, from King Charles to Vivien Leigh.
Tsars, princes and great figures have stayed here, drawn by the same thing that makes San Vigilio so special today: the simplicity of its rooms, the beauty of the lake and a quiet that has remained untouched by time.
A Legacy of Dreams & Humanism.
This historic corner of the earth whispers with ancient myths of satyrs, the poetry of humanists, and the prayers of early monks. The modern spirit of the Punta was born when the Veronese humanist Agostino Brenzoni chose this destination as his personal retreat. In 1540, he commissioned the great Renaissance architect Michele Sanmicheli to design a historic villa that would perfectly harmonise faith, reason, and beauty. Brenzoni left his philosophy inscribed directly into the stone: “Sub umbra alarum tuarum” - Under the shadow of your wings. It is this same deep-seated devotion to the thoughtful grandeur of classical life that continues to guide our hands today.
The Taverna & Porticciolo.
Down at the water's edge lies our small Porticciolo, a welcoming lakeside dock that has served as the first breathtaking view for generations of treasured guests. The Taverna offers a space of slow, unhurried restaurant refinement, where you can let yourself be caressed by the lakeside breeze while sipping a traditional Italian aperitivo or savouring a long lunch on Lake Garda’s calm waters.
Parco San Vigilio
Spreading across 20,000 square meters of pure tranquillity, Parco San Vigilio is where our history expands into new, open-air chapters. Cocooned by hundreds of ancient olive trees and vibrant citrus orchards, time moves more slowly here. Guests are invited to lounge by our private swimming pool, take a dip straight into the waters of Lake Garda, enjoy fresh Mediterranean seafood with an unforgettable view, or simply let the day unfold with the pages of a beloved book.
